Arriving in Olympia by Public transport
By public transport (KTEL bus) you will first have to go to Purgos and there change buses to Olympia, same on your return trip.

Katakolon-Purgos is 13 km and Purgos-Olympia 17 km

From Athens to Ancient Olympia
If you want to travel by bus then you need to get to Kifissou street 100 (else called "Stathmos Kifissou") were the bus terminals are. You need to ask for a ticket to Ancient olympia (in Greek Arxaia olympia). The bus travels the same route as the train which is no other that via Patras.tel: Kifissos Bus station is 210-5134110 / 210-5124910.

Overland by Bus
The Helllenic Railways Organisation (OSE) also operates international bus services to and from Albania Turkey and Bulgaria from the Peloponnese station in Athens. Eurolines runs a weekly service from London victoria to a variety of destination.

Prices (average): IST taxi from  Athens to olympia will be cost around 230 euro, from katakolon port (a half day tour for cruise clients) cost 80-120 euro 1/4 persons.

You can tip the driver (but only if you want to) at a rate of 5 - 10% at your own discretion.

Online reservations Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. Be suspicious of emails or websites that originate from free email & web hosting services (yahoo, Googlepages, hotmail, gmail, aol, etc)
